Empact Partners started Hutte as a GTM founding partner in 2022, with Vlad Shvets joining Hutte as CRO. Hutte is a Salesforce DevOps Software company dedicated to modernizing development workflows within the Salesforce ecosystem.
Hutte's GTM Strategy
The Empact Partners team was fundamental in shaping up Hutte’s early-stage GTM strategy, including market validation, ABM, pricing, and inbound acquisition.
When defining Hutte's GTM strategy, we focused on two main areas:
SaaS Media
Media is a crucial aspect in Hutte’s GTM. Its product is all about modern practices of Salesforce software development. To succeed commercially, Hutte needs to become a thought leader in its space, with a clear and well-defined brand messaging and its own content distribution channels.
Product-Led Sales
We implemented a sales approach driven by user activity and product usage. The sales process starts only after the users get to experience Hutte’s product. The product-led sales model was also reflected in Hutte’s Reverse Trial pricing model. Upon signup, all users automatically start a free trial and receive access to all the product features. After 30 days, the accounts automatically roll back to a limited free plan.
Online Presence
We shipped Hutte's first real website, focusing on the following aspects:
Trails Publication
We named Hutte’s publication Trails (instead of simply “blog”) and placed it in the /trails/ subfolder on Hutte’s domain. The concept is simple: a publication by Salesforce experts for fellow Salesforce professionals. All content published on Trails is crafted by Hutte’s internal expert team and external well-known industry pros.
Trails Podcast
To complement Hutte's SaaS media efforts, we launched the Trails podcast. The podcast features interviews with Salesforce Dev leaders. The insights and discussions from the interviews get repurposed into articles for the Trails publication and social media, creating a media flywheel.
Interviews are crucial for any SaaS company aiming to build a robust SaaS media engine. We can’t stress this enough. This is why podcasts are so valuable for B2B SaaS:
- They’re a low-hanging fruit in content marketing (quick to produce, low effort)
- Offer a direct channel to engage with industry experts
- Provide an easy opportunity to source expert quotes
- Require minimal resources to be launched and managed
After Hutte secured pre-seed funding, we exited the company. Since 2023, we’ve been collaborating with Hutte as consulting partners, further supporting their growth in the Salesforce DevOps space.
